How you can help

Whether or not you have children that are of the age to take advantage of Good Shepherd Lutheran School, there are ways that you can help provide this Christian education.

First and foremost, we ask for your prayers. Pray for this ministry and ask the Lord's blessings on the staff, volunteers and students. Pray that the children would come to know the Lord better and feel his love.

Donate to help provide Lutheran elementary education for students in the Mankato area. Please make checks payable to Good Shepherd Lutheran School. If you have an account with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, please fill out the Trivent "Giving Plus" form so that your gift can be increased by 50%.

Participate in the Parents, Teachers and Friends - PTF group which meets quarterly to coordinate fundraising and promotional activities.

Volunteer to work around the school for a morning or afternoon during the school year. If you have the ability to teach a special enrichment class, please speak to a teacher.

Spread the good news about Good Shepherd Lutheran School. Encourage families with children to come and find out more about us. Give them a school brochure or encourage them to visit the school website - www.goodshepschool.org.

Participate in our ongoing fundraisers which include:

  • 'Scrip' for area merchants. Pick up a list of participating merchants by the office.
  • Purchase a school t-shirt or sweatshirt.
  • Purchase an item from the "Wish Tree" display in the church narthex.
  • Collecting Hy Vee receipts, Campbell's soup lables, Milk Moola coupons from KwikTrip milk brand, recycling ink cartridges and 20 oz. pop bottles. Collection containers are near the office.
